We strongly disagree with the book in the sense it ignore the large amount of cooperation and acculturation between different ethnic groups. Culture is a dynamic concept, culuture of any ethnic group is changing. In the future, there will be a global culture which mixes different cultures . No group really defeated others, and no group is really the winner. Everybody becomes everybody else.

In fact, conflict in a sense is a 'method' or 'process' of acculturation. But it is a hash method, we do not promote it.

The Race Question is a UNESCO statement issued on 18 July 1950 following World War II. Signed by some of the leading researchers of the time, in the field of psychology, biology, cultural anthropology and ethnology, it questioned the foundations of scientific racist theories which had become very popular at the turn of the 20th century, alongside eugenics. These racist theories had been a main influence of the Nazi racial policies and eugenics program. The original statement was drafted by Ernest Beaglehole, Juan Comas, L. A. Limitation of UN's Declaration on Cultural Rights

We quoted UN's declaration on cultural diversity on this blog, it does not mean we endose its content in all detail, it is referered because UN is an important organization. It menas, in spirit, cultural diversity is something deserved the respect and recogonition, but we differ from UN in what constitute the Cultural Rights.

The limitation of UN's declaration is it only recogonized the use of languages etc as culture, it do not mention the rights of cultural ideology as part of the cultural rights. 'human rights' are always assumed as an 'universal value' but fundermentally current main stream interpretation for human rights (practised by western human rights group) are the manifastation of western ideology. Wikipedia pager on 'Human Rights' is locked, why? where are too much disgreement on what is human rights.

For sure individualism is easier to accept by people because it satisfy human's 'selfish nature'(To understand the definition of selfish nature here, please read Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkin, it's the biological needs of individual ), because of that 'rights' is always easier to accept than 'responsibility', therefore individualism has its evolutional advantage in competing with other ideology, that's why we see its popularity around world, but popularity does not necessarily equal to truth, religion is also ver popular all around world, but study suggest the popularity is due its contribution to the psychological well being of human - popularity does not imply religious interpretation of the world equals to truth. Although individualism maybe better for individuals in the short term, it may not be a good thing for the whole speciese or our planet.

In the eyes of 'God/Gods'(Its refer to the general Gods, the perspective from outside human interests), A culture emphsis responsibility is no any inferior than a culture focus on individual rights. just like a sheep's life style is nothing inferior then a lion, they are two dimesions and can not be compared just like you can not compare time and space, all our moral judgement, including our passion for rights and responsiblity has its evolutionary roots and purposes.

As a scientist working and living in a western nation, I am always interested in the unification of partial laws in different part of our society, by combination my knowledge from different domains, such as biology and cultural study, I proposed some hypothesis which I will detail in this article.

The main topic is the biological base of culture difference. I would be very interested to see any following survey to either support or disprove that hypothesis.

Its is a very deep topic, to read this, you need to have the courage to break many assumptions you builds on in the everyday life, you need to have open mind and imagination, if you can understand what I mean, then congratulations, you are getting one great step closer to the truths.

As western is in its power, Euro centrism is saturated in Morden science, it is everywhere but people hardly notice it. The reason I said so is because I do not find much study directly associated with the obvious yet very important topic, it maybe simply because that the results would be unfavoured by the group who has most money and power. Researches can hardly get funding, scientist and hardly find journal to publish it. Academic is not immutable to politics. If you read this and find it inspiring, please quota my credit in your work (such as ThinkAgainAgain of Cultural Peace Group suggests…). Although it is published online, but I am as serious as I am writing my other papers.

I respect true science, and I feel I have the responsibility to tell people my finding, that’s why I wrote this. Besides listing my hypothesis, I will also tell you how I came out those ideas along the way.

Many researches suggest, high testosterone level is associate with aggression and crime.
Culture has biological/genetic base (please read Selfish Gene).
Many researches suggest, on average male's body differ from female’s body in following aspects:
higher body height
more body hair
more prominent brow ridge
larger chin
longer legs
smaller head
longer neck
flat cheek
squared jaw
If reverse the features, one can get typical of Asian body feature, squared jaw is not perceived as beautiful in Asian culture (maybe because its not feminine enough compare with average Asian people, a popular plastic surgery in Asia is to reduction of the squared jaw )
Therefore one can predict, on average Asian's should has lower testosterone level than Caucasian. Surveys can be performed to verify this hypothesis.

Based on this hypothesis, one can further analysis the difference between Caucasian and Asian cultures.
Let’s go back to the difference between man and woman, much research suggests, man are more aggressive, opportunity seeking and less compassionate, on average has less consideration of others. On the other hand women are more cooperative and have a stronger sense that she is part of the environment.
Actually, these two poles of gender characters describe the difference between western culture and Asian culture very well, formal is called as individualism, latter, is traditionally called as collectivism, but this term is no longer neutered under the influence of Eurocentrism, and it does not describe the Asian ideology at the fundamental level, I perfer to use another term, Holism, to describe Asian culture.

Yes as the name suggests, western ideology focus on individual people, Asian ideology focus on the whole system, the system can be a family, a country, the environments, and even as large as the whole universe, therefore individual human are not essentially any superior to the the rest of environment, they are asked to have more consideration to others and the environments, in another words, Caucasian culture focus one individual rights, Asian cultural focus on individual responsibility.
Based on those two sets of core features, more ideologies was developed, all of those inherit the core value of Caucasion culuture and Asian culture, for example

Christianity, which put human at the centre of universe, so individual rights is emphasised, the religions is outgoing, it goes out to spread its idea, aims to changing others, it is an aggressive religion in another words.

Capitalism, which encourage the accumulating of personal wealth therefore personal rights

Buddhism, which see human and animals are equally having souls
Taoism, which has a holistic concept of the world
Above two ideologies are both passive, inner going, they focus on changing oneself and do not actively seeking expansion of its ideology.

Communism, which can be seem as another form of religion, encourage the sharing and responsibility to the greatest extend

But if we go back to the beginning, all difference can be explained as Asian culture are more feminine than Caucasian culture, if we take one more step backwards, the gender of culture is due of the difference in testosterone level and gene controls them.

In a word, the fundamental difference of Asian and Caucasian culture is the result of biological difference, this difference are defined by gene, and can be evaluated by testing the average level of testosterone in the population.

Yes Asians are more feminine so do their culture.

What is fashion industry?

It is the frontline of propaganda of racial discrimination, which help create better survival environment for Caucasians, because compare with Asia, Caucasians are less feminine physically on average, man's nature instinct of beauty(please read: Survival of the Prettiest: The Science of Beauty: Nancy Etcoff:) and mate seeking do not favour this kinds of features, so models with typical Caucasian feature are set up to be the standards of beauty, taller, long leg, squared jaw, those features are known to associate with testosterone. sometime, woman belong of other race but have has Caucasian features are also allowed to walked on the stage to show there respect to diversity, but at the fundamental level, this industry is decimate against other races. Because majority people of over race do not fit into their standards of beauty

Forecast of the fitness of two different cultural systems.

Data has already suggest in developed nations, girls are increasing over-performed then boys in the school, we can expect females to be better off in the future as the society needs more co-operation then confrontations. For the same token Asian culture will be better off in the new world.

Evolutionary speaking, no a single culture is superior to the others, they just different mutations, but their fitness to the environment will differ from time and space. With the increasing of global population, and ever developed communication system, everybody is increase connected with each other, individualism are much more difficult to maintain because of the complex relationships between everything: the economic crisis in one part of the world will effect other parts shortly, the pollution in one country will contribute to global climate crisis, at this point of time, human has come to realized that we have to look at the world as a whole, the world is no longer your place or mine place, it belong to everyone, and everything we do effect others, if we want to survive and develop, we need to work together, and cut unnecessary consumption, we need to sacrificed a little bit more for others so overall we have better living environment, this is just the essence of Asian ideology, which is about holism and responsibility.

And cutting edge modern science such as gene sequence, brain function study, and quantum physics, cosmology are breaking the myth of uniqueness of human in the universe everyday, we are everything, everything are we. We are part of the universe.

Biological base of difference in Intelligence

When compare the complexity and intelligence of animals species, brain to body mass ratio is often used as indicator of intelligence. As Asian usually has a larger size of head, one can expect their brain to body mass ratio is also larger than Caucasian.

This hypothesis have been confirmed in many researches, Asians, such as Korean, Japanese and Chinese are found on average has higher IQ than Caucasians, one book IQ and the Wealth of Nations, although the conclusion of the book is very unscientific, data still suggest this difference.

China is the most populous country in the world, roughly 1 in every 5 people in the world is Chinese, so if this country has a average level of execution, it would naturally be found on top of the list. In another words, if the level of execution in China is about average, 1 in 5 people executed should come from China. Just like 1 in 5 people die from traffic accident is from China, 1 in 5 women is from China, 1 in 5 man is from China, 1 in 5 intersex people is from China…China top the list of people die from traffic accident, China top the list of population of woman, China top the list of population of man, China top the list of population of intersex, China top the list of total number of Execution… Do those statements tell people anything at all? No.

What should be compare is the amount of execution on per capita basis. Do you have the data? Is China still on the top?

We caculate the data by ourselft, we got the total amount data from AI and population from CIA, two independent source from Chinese government, But the result we find is that China’s rank is 28.

Despite of human rights, many of us are also strong supportors of other left wing movement, including woman rights, animal rights, we believe the internal value of all sentience beings so there is no doubt that we strongly support human right. Please stop listing a few, or even a hundred, seperate cases as argument. Do you watching Criminal Investigation channel? Do you horrified by thos crimes? Will you then draw conclusion based on what you saw on CI that whole nation is bad as that? In the long run, the death penalty should be abolished in any part of the world but changes are not happen over night. The first thing need to change is not what government think, but what average people think about this issue, when still many people do not understand the abolishing of death penalty, even government want to abolish it, it will not happen, because the public won't support it. The common reaction would be ‘if serious crime is not punished how can I ensure my security? people to extend see death penalty as warning of serious criminal behavior’, we know this from our personal experience from several nations, you do not have to believe in us, the best way to get to know how people think is go to the nation and do a scientific survey. Days ago, I registered http://www.thechinadebate.org/ as it claims to be a free platform for different voices on human rights issues in China, but I later realized Amnesty International imposes a very strong yet secret censorship on this forum.

They using a deceptive method to censor the forum - double view for the author of the post and others forum visitors. This means, when people post some messages and they can see those post in their view, but others may not see those post. If we do not log in or ask a friend with a different username to check, we may realized some of the post are not really published through the forum. Those unseen post are filtered out by the moderator from Amnesty Internetional. Ironically, one of topic of the forum is attacking the Internet Censorship and one question Amnesty Internetional ask is 'Is internet free for everyone to use?' I want to ask AI the same question.

some of my posts became the victim of the strong censorship, but it just confirmed one thing, those posts DO include sensitive information that Amnesty Internationl would not like public see, it links to their dark secret . AI, you are the world largest propoganda machines of ethnic discrimination.

I am glad to see some intellegent new comments, AI and some so called human rights groups, please stop fool the public by your money oriented campaign, I was so deeply involved in advocacy movement, so I know well about what is happening in some international organization.

please tell the truth!

Like this case, for very long AI campaign has been single China out without sufficent evidence. it either focus on portrait a few cases or based on total amount of any issues. Those method ignores the big picture in the country and is unscientific and totally biased.

Some may say, AI targets to Chinese government, but not Chinese people, this view is as naive as 3 years Child. It means they know nothing about China.

The government is consisted of officers, those officers are Chinese people, they have family they have friends they have contacts throughout the country, you can not seperate the government from Chinese people, do you think Chinese government is that such a evil class hang over the public? If this is the case, there would already be another revolution! The government is improving on the day to day basis, Chinese history is VERY different from the one of the west, it take time for people to experiment which is the right direction. As a matter of fact, even on those most accused historical issues, such as cultural revolution or the unrest of 1989, there ARE divided opinions within the Party, many key people involved in those historical issue has already gone, and there are alway many good officers dedicate their life to help the people since 1949.

Diversity in China is an important fact, Some western scholar believe there may be more 100 ethinic groups if caculate on western standard, many people accuse China including AI completely do not aware the complexity within this country is to such a great extend and has judge China merely based on the stereotypic image they herited from the propoganda of cold war and the colonized history of China.

When groups like AI run negative campaign against China in particular when they taking adventage of public event like Olympic, it not only hurts the goverment, hurts the images of China, it also hurts every one in the country.

What a shame, as a ‘human rights’ group, you commited one of the most serious offence to human rights on this planet!

This remind me the forced cultural assimilation posed on many aboriginal/native people in the different parts of the world, in Australia, in the America.

If AI want to continue muddle the fingers in the country, I have recommandation for your team members, please do like many westerns , go to the country, study the language, the history and the culture and perform scientific research before you launch any campaign. hello js, one of my good friend is from India, my friends surname is Ganguli, I admire traditional indian culture, religion value I have been study quiet a lot of it, I always love to talk with my friend about this kind of things, Its truly a widsom of human civilization, as you say Vegetarianism is such a wonderful idea, I have no disagreement with you on those topic. but I also know from my friend and my study that the british influence is strong in Indan, almost every Indian speak English. Please note, the information you based on judge China is mainly original from English speaking world and its connection in other european country, all those european country share a close cultural tie (just look at the similarity and difference between languages) and view on issuse. If you know Chinese language as good as English, I AM SURE you will have different opinins on those issues. It is not there is no transparency at all, there are lots of free literatures text on different Chinese issues out there, in particular many are online, it including voice favor or against government, Chinese people have good chance make their own judgement by those diversed information - but simply because those huge amount of information are in Chinese they can not be read and understood by most of you.

Wikipedia can be seen as a place of free speech, if you check the Chinese page on those sensitive issues, such as 1989 or Tibet, you will see lots more information you never heard in English speaking world, and you will be so suprised by what you have seen. Now many website provide automatic translation service, like Google, Wndows Live, you can use these tool to read those Chinese pages, please remember wikipedia is mainly written by people outside China as people say Chinese government censor it. You do not have to trust Chinese government, but you can put more bet on wikipedia.

I am not going to repeat those information on wikipedia, but I just want to illustrate an example, before communist Party enter Tibet, when it is under Dalai Lama , there was an SLAVERY class in their society, SLAVE! what does this mean?? Shocking uh? and the Religious leader was the head of this kind of soceity, was this system compatible with human rights or love and peace? Where is the freedom of the slaves? I never say China is perfect, and I am fully aware this, just like many other nation. Have you been there? do you know people from there? have you done scientific research about the security? I know a few Iranians and have done research in this country. thanks hobbes for extend my ‘number game’ which give further information, in consideration the political interests, I think its fair to say the data you provide, rank 5 per capital,is the up limit because the date is estimated by a US group, and mine as the bottom limit because the data is originated from Chinese government, so we have an confidence interval of the real situation now. The real rank would very much likely to be in between the two limits, between rank 5 to rank 28.

But it only confirm one thing, China is not the worst on the issue, but China is portraited in this campaign as the top offender and is listed on top of the rank of those human rights group, this is the very definition of discrimination!

Should peaceful protests be banned?

A fundermental flaw of this talk is, it does not aware any statment is based on a set of conditions/assumptions, this kind of absolute statment ‘peaceful protests should not be banned’ is always wrong. Aware the assumption of your statment is basic quality of any scientist and anyone involve in the academia.

If anyone have ever written a scientific paper, you should know first thing one should aware and declare is the assumptions, ie the condition in our statment.

So I totally oppose the statment of ”all peaceful protests should not be banned’ , think of this example, ’suppose potential earthquak is treaten a region, the government want people to leave, but some people still want to have peacful protest on issues and do not like to leave’ . should those protests be allowed ? =)

There are be many dimension of the realty, many things can not be expected and understood in once own cultural value system.

AI, please do not live in your own universe and using your own univeral law to design the life for people in the other universe, it will not work. To China a stable social environment is the priority for the well being therefor freedom of all people, it will reduce poverty and improved the standards of life, so you should understand why China will have slightly different practise than your nations.

If someone can not understand a society based on a slightly different set of laws and is still working, it maybe because,

js, can you please give a few examples, tell me in this world people from which nation have the fortune to be fully responsible for the nations policies? If this is achieved in any nation, it would be definitely the heaven on the earth and there would be no need of any social advocay.

Control and being secrecy of governments is universal in our world at current stage, the difference maybe some nation get more money and technology to have a better coverup, so nice and innocent people like you don't see the evidence of their misbehavior very often, and subsequencely brian washed to believe some issues in some nations are worse than yours.

Problem of many people on similar issues is they assume their way of doing things is the best, in the cultural point of view, difference does not imply superiorty or inferiorty, its like things in different dimensions, you can not compare.

Do you think the you way you talk and sleep is superior than a Cat? If you do not think so, why you can not imagin you fellow human brother from other ethnic group have their own way of life that you should not interference and judge?

Does the human civilization have a future? Will our species distinct in the endless warfare or eventually learn to appreciate and understand the difference of each other?

The conflict appears everywhere in the world, we can attribute the conflic to many things, politics, ideology, religion, but we believe at the fundermenatl level, those differences root in the difference of cultures, here we define culture as the accumulation of the evolution history of any sub human species/group.

Culture exchange and assimillation happens throughout the history. No two groups are completely different, no two groups are exactly the same. Everyone has his/her own culture, but some groups are obviously much different from others. Larger the difference, more chances of misunderstanding therefore more chances of conflict.

Let us read their history, then we will understand why their desendant thinks and behave so different from us.
